Hilary Costello

Aerospace Innovator

Dr Hilary Costello is based in the Engineering Department at the University of Cambridge where she teaches mechanics and fluid dynamics. She earned her PhD from Cambridge in engineering in the field of fluid-structure interaction.

She has industrial experience working on a number of novel aircraft projects looking to make planes fly for as long as possible using solar or hydrogen power.

Hilary’s talk

What the future of sustainable air transport might look like

Who wants a long flight? Not many, except when there’s no one on board! Solar power and autonomous aircraft technology make multiple day flights possible which could be useful for a number of applications.
